Hi, I am Cindy and I love to create spirit dolls for myself and others. How I became a dollmaker, to me, is a story of magic and synchronicity. About three years ago during a guided meditation I saw an image of a woman. She had long red hair and antlers on her head. She insisted that I find her. I was intrigued and searched the internet for an image of her. Suddenly my heart skipped a beat, because there she was, a beautiful doll with long red hair and antlers. She was made by Julia Inglis, a wonderful dollmaker in Tasmania.
After reading Julia’s story and seeing her magical spirit dolls I was so deeply moved. In my heart I knew I was in the right place. Julia offers courses and when I found the image of her beautiful spirit doll with antlers, her foundation course would start the next day. So you probably already guessed, I signed up for the course.
Julia is a wonderful mentor and her course was so magical, taking me on a journey, a pilgrimage she calls it. Not only was I learning how to make spirit dolls with the art of needle felting (which I had never done before), but more importantly she helped me (re)connect with my inner dollmaker.

Besides that I now love the craft of needle felting spirit dolls, I also love that the dolls brought so many other parts of my life together, like my love for nature and animals, magical myths and mysteries, ancient symbolism, beautiful crystals and herbs, and much much more. These inspiring elements are woven into the dolls, in their medicine bundles and as adornments. (see Creation)
Ever since that first course I have been creating spirit dolls for myself and others. Some dolls are inspired by my inner child, connecting me to magic, joy and laughter. Others by my inner wise woman, connecting me to the deeper feelings and meanings of life. And many by beautiful (spirit) animals teaching me about their medicine.

When creating spirit dolls for others I love to weave the energy of their wishes and intentions into their personal spirit doll.

And then she brings in her magic, creating a gentle connection, igniting an inner spark, a remembrance of what was there all along, hidden deep within, weaving us back to wholeness.
Much love,
Cindy
